The hotels we recommend for their location, comfort, and safety. If you prefer to stay somewhere other than the suggested hotels, we recommend searching within the area highlighted on the map. This area represents the most convenient, safe, and well-connected areas for getting around Bogotá.

We know that in many European cities, the historic center is often the best option for accommodation, but in Bogotá, it's different. Although the center has historical value and some interesting sites to visit, it's not the most residential area or the most welcoming place to stay, especially at night. Therefore, our recommendations focus on neighborhoods like Chapinero, Rosales, Parque de la 93, or Usaquén, which offer a more pleasant experience for resting, walking, eating, or simply enjoying the city.

Restaurants and tourist spots that you could enjoy during your free time in the city.

We hope this map helps you plan a comfortable and pleasant stay in Bogotá!

Safety Notice for Tourists in Colombia

Bogotá is a vibrant city full of culture, but like many large cities, it's important to take precautions to enjoy it safely. To avoid theft, scams, or awkward situations, we recommend following some practical tips during your visit:

  • Always keep your personal belongings close and under close supervision, especially in crowded places such as markets, public transportation, and tourist areas.

  • Avoid carrying visible valuables, such as flashy jewelry, large cameras, or cell phones, outside your purse or pocket.

  • Use official taxis or reliable apps like Uber or Beat, and avoid taking informal rides on the street.

  • Be wary of strangers offering help or trying to distract you; some scams rely on distractions.

  • Do not accept drinks or food from strangers, or share personal information with people you don't know.

  • Avoid walking alone in poorly lit or uncrowded areas, especially at night.

  • Find out in advance about the areas you will visit and follow the instructions of the guides or staff.

By following these recommendations, you'll be able to enjoy your trip much more and experience the best of Bogotá safely. Remember that prevention is the best way to have an unforgettable and hassle-free experience.
